Rising Sun Meal Site to Reopen at Hoosier Boy Community Room
LifeTime Resources is pleased to announce that the Rising Sun Senior Nutrition Activity Center (Meal Site) is reopening! The site has been moved to the Hoosier Boy Apartments Community Room and will reopen on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:00 am. Reservations for lunch need to be made by noon on Wednesday, April 8 by calling 812-432-5215. Within the last week, someone illegally dumped more than 300 dirty diapers and a burn barrel at the Rising Sun Brush Dump on Downey Street. State laws stipulate what may and may not be placed on the brush dump and abuses such as these could lead to our brush dump being closed. Employees of the City of Rising Sun work very hard to keep our City looking its very best and it is disheartening to witness such disrespect in action. Third Annual 4H Green Mile 5K Walk / Run
The Ohio County 4-H Program is hosting their Third Annual Green Power 5K Run/Walk on April 11th - registration starts at 8 a.m. - race starts at 9 a.m.; age groups are 14 years or younger, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 years and over. March Proclaimed Red Cross Awareness Month
Mayor April Hautman proclaimed March as Red Cross Awareness Month and presented a Proclamation to Greater Cincinnati/Ohio River Valley Area American Red Cross representatives Paula McIntosh, Regional Community Presence Officer and Skip Tate, Communication Manager. The Red Cross has been very active in Rising Sun lately due to the unfortunate fires that have occured recently. Please remember to help as you can - donate a gift of time, money or blood if possible.
