MAC’S SEAPLANE BEGINS NEW ERA IN RISING SUN WITH OPEN HOUSE

MAC’S SEAPLANE BEGINS NEW ERA IN RISING SUN WITH OPEN HOUSE

Mac’s Seaplane will host an Open House on Friday October 11 from 5-8pm in the new hanger building at 308 S. Front Street.

This open house will mark the beginning of a unique business and attraction for the area as well as the culmination of three long years of work by the owner Troy MacVey, the Port Authority and the City of Rising Sun. Mr. MacVey recently retired after 22 years of service from ComAir as an airline Captain Instructor Pilot, FAA Pilot Examiner and Company Check Airman.

Mac’s Seaplane Service will offer sightseeing, charters, special events and training. The airplanes used are also prize winning vintage float planes. The vintage Cessna 195 won the “Golden Lindy” award at the Oshkosh Wisconsin Air Show last year

Although Mac’s has just moved into their new home they have been a fixture on the Rising Sun riverfront for two years. They have offered sightseeing at events in Rising Sun, Vevay and Madison. Mr. MacVey and the City of Rising Sun are hoping this new venture will bring more tourists and pilots to the community to add additional dollars to other businesses in Ohio County.
