It's not even Thanksgiving yet but the jolly man who dawns the red suit is filling up his appearance calendar and he's making a few stops in Rising Sun. Of course, we're talking about Santa Claus.
On Friday, November 30th at 5 pm, St. Nick will arrive by seaplane along our riverfront. Please note this is a date change from December 7. Apparently, Santa has basketball league night with the elves and had to change the date. Once he arrives in town on November 30, he will light the city's Christmas tree then stroll up Main Street to the Pendleton Art Center (201 Main). Up until 7 pm, he will pose for pics with all the good little girls and boys...and maybe even some adults if you ask nicely. While waiting for your pictures to print, Rising Sun Main Street will have some Rising Sun IGA sugar cookies for the kiddies to decorate and eat. Yum!
Sometimes, Kris Kringle is accompanied by his better half. Mrs. Claus will join Santa at the Visitors Center (100 S. Walnut) from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday December 1, 8 and 15. Youngsters can enjoy some steamy hot chocholate plus decorate and delve into more delicious cookies.
More Santa events may be added soon so please check back. Happy Ho Ho everyone!
