Rising Sun Bicentennial Walkway Accepted as State Legacy Project

Rising Sun's Bicentennial Walkway which was dedicated on May 30, 2014 was accepted as an Indiana State Bicentennial Legacy Project by the Indiana Bicentennial Commission! It is exciting that our beautiful history walkway is a part of the 2016 State Bicentennial and will be listed on the Bicentennial website.

PHASE 4 RIVER WALK PROJECT UNDERWAY
The last phase of construction protecting and enhancing Rising Sun's riverbank is underway and will include a retaining wall and a walkway - bikeway path. We will be posting updates and photos of the progress weekly - biweekly. Rising Sun received a Federal grant which will pay for 75% of the project which is expected to be complete in the fall of 2016. They were a long time coming but the Bicentennial Books have arrived! The book contains eight chapters covering the 200-year history of Rising Sun and includes many pictures, both rare and color images, stories, highlights and memories.Please come to the Clerk-Treasurer's Office at Rising Sun City Hall on 200 North Walnut Street and get your books while they last.
