Please come to the Jack’s Place parking lot on Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd for a “Bake A Difference” bake sale to generate awareness for CdLS and benefit the family of Nikki Rauscher.  The event will start at 10 am each day with no end time specified. New Riverfront Mural In Rising Sun
There is an addition to the wonderful view of Rising Sun's riverfront from the Ohio River. Artist J.J. Wolfe painted a mural on the front of the stair steps leading from the riverside walkway up the riverbank. This project was sponsored by Rising Sun Main Street-Indiana . You need to take a walk along the shore and enjoy this.

Ohio County Historical Museum announced plans for this year's Founder's Day Celebration on Saturday, May 30, 2015. There will be a silent auction, live music and a pork chop dinner. Call the Museum at 812-438-4915 for dinner tickets or see any Rotary member. Be sure to get your tickets in advance as the last dinner during the Bicentennial sold out!

The City of Rising Sun would like to extend its sincerest thanks and appreciation to the Rising Sun Regional Foundation for their grant assistance on three projects. RSRF awarded the city $1500 toward the creation of job descriptions for all of its employees.  Job descriptions will offer a measure of protection for both the city and its employees in the event of any dispute or disciplinary issue.  They better define roles and expectations of each employee bringing a level of clarity t...

RISING SUN SCHOOLS OFFERING PRE-SCHOOL THIS FALL
Rising Sun-Ohio County Community Schools Rising Sun Schools will offer preschool classes for the first time ever beginning in August 2015. Children need to be at least 4 years old before Aug. 1, 2015. Classes will be 5 days a week for 2 1/2 hours a day. Charges will be $50 a week. (Rising Sun, Ind.) – Matthew Jacob Uhlmansiek, member of the 2015 graduating class of Rising Sun High School, has been named the recipient of a four year, full-tuition scholarship as the Ohio County Community Foundation 2015 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar. "Ohio Beauty" Quilt Is Mayor's Choice
Mayor April Hautman is shown with the Mayor's Choice Quilt from the Ohio County Historical Museum's QuiltFest a few weeks ago. The quilt is named "Ohio Beauty" by Julie Yaeger Lambert of Elsmere, KY. So many beautiful quilts were displayed this year.
