The Rising Sun-Ohio County Parks & Recreation Department announces the return of 31 Miles In October.  Participants who walk and/or run 31 miles this October and submit completed paperwork will receive a free t-shirt. City of Rising Sun Brush Policy The following rules must be observed for brush to be picked up by the City of Rising Sun Street Department. Brush will be picked up on Monday and Friday. Homeowners do not need to call to request pickup. 1. All brush must be stacked next to the curb or alley and be stacked in the same direction. 2. For city residents only, the City of Rising Sun will make dumpsters available at the City Dump on the following remaining Saturdays in 2017 from 7 to 11 am: September 23, October 7 and November 4. September's Dumpster Day is NOT the first Saturday of the month.  It falls in conjunction with the Fall Community Yard Sale and Clean-Up event running September 21-23. City Selling Two Former Police Vehicles
The City of Rising Sun is now accepting sealed bids for two former Rising Sun Police vehicles- a 2006 Dodge Charger and a 2007 Dodge Durango (shown to the left).  Sealed bids must be submitted to the Rising Sun Clerk-Treasurer's Office, 200 North Walnut St., by 5 p.m. on September 28, 2017. Pool Hours Change Starting August 7
With school back in session this Friday, the Rising Sun Community Pool Hours will be reduced starting Monday, August 7.  The new hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday- 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday- 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday- 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday- 12 to 8 p.m. Water aerobics will be held on Monday and Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. as long as there is still interest. The final day of the swim season will be Sunday, September 3.
