Rising Sun Municipal Utilities is accepting applications for an entry level Billing Clerk.  Applications can be picked up in the utility office at 200 N. Walnut St., Rising Sun, IN.  Completed applications and resumes must be returned to the Superintendent at the utility office in person or by mail (P.O. Next Dumpster Day is August 5
For city residents only, the City of Rising Sun will make dumpsters available at the City Dump on the following remaining Saturdays in 2017 from 7 to 11 am: August 5, September 23, October 7 and November 4. The following items are not permitted at the dump: liquids, hazardous waste, wet or lead paint, closed drums, Freon containing refrigeration equipment, tires or mercury containing lamps.

Ohio County 4-H First Annual Rodeo
Ohio County 4-H is hosting its first annual rodeo event Friday, August 18 at 7 p.m. at the Ohio County Fairgrounds in Rising Sun.  Admission is $10 for those age six and older.  Five and under are admitted free. If you want to tap into your wild side, you can actually be a participant and compete for prizes.  Protective gear is provided.  Jackpot Bull Riding has a $60 entry fee.  The prize pool is $1000 plus entry fees received.  Barrel Racing is $50 to enter. ...

Rising Sun Municipal Utilities now has Autopay available where you can have your utility bill automatically deducted from your checking or savings account.  The ACH payment will be made from your account on the 10th of every month.  There is no charge for this service.  Call 812-438-3616 to sign up or to ask questions.

Ohio County Rescue Service is offering CPR training free to Ohio County residents on Saturday, July 22 at 121 South High Street in Rising Sun.  The 90 minute classes taught by Matt Vaughn are at 8 am and 11:30 am. The Ohio County Community Foundation awarded the City of Rising Sun $2265 toward the purchase of mulch for the Shiner Park playground and also to replace the firewall at City Hall.   The cost of the mulch plus delivery is $2150 and the firewall replacement and its initial configuration cost is $2530.  The combined cost of the two projects is $4680.
