New Cemetery Markers at Union Cemetery and Cedar Hedge Cemetery
Did you know there are actually two separate cemeteries behind the high school? These are our oldest cemeteries and the first one you come to on Downey St, on your right with the large Civil War monument is Union Cemetery. As you continue down and turn a curve to your right, Cedar Hedge Cemetery is to your left. These historic cemeteries had markers installed yesterday, drive by and take a look! For more history on the cemeteries or town, visit the Ohio County Historical Society.

Legion Auxiliary Novelty Bingo is December 7
Calling all BINGO players.  The Rising Sun American Legion Auxiliary will host its annual Novelty Bingo event on Sunday, December 7th at 1 pm in the American Legion Post 59 basement.  Doors will open at 12 pm. Donoations of food items are needed for bingo raffle baskets.  Donations for prizes are needed as well. Please remember the bingo event area is non-smoking.

Bridge Maintenance Begins On Markland Dam Bridge
A maintenance project is underway underneath the Markland Dam Bridge. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the $515,717 worth of maintenance includes pier repairs, bearing replacements, and bridge joint repairs. Crews are starting underneath the bridge, meaning traffic won’t be impacted at first. However, work will eventually move up onto the bridge deck. City of Rising Sun Offices & Departments and Rising Sun Municipal Utilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27th and Friday, Nov. 28th to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday.
