A Mardi Gras ball benefit for the Children's Advocacy Center of Southeast Indiana will be held Saturday, February 25 from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Lawrenceburg Event Center with live music by The Menus.  In addition, there will be happy hour, dinner plus a silent and live auction.   Included in the event is the Monarchy Competition. If you're in the fifth through ninth grade and would like to learn how to work a crime scene, then sign up for CSI Camp!  See how the Indiana State Police collect evidence like finger prints and DNA to solve crimes.  You'll have an opportunity to work through an entire crime from when it was committed to the prosecution of the suspect. UPDATE- No Phone Service at City Buildings During Upgrade Feb. 28
Thanks to a $14,790 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, the City of Rising Sun is getting a new phone system installed in several of its buildings.  Orginally, the system was to be installed on February 6 and 7.  However, the upgrade has been pushed back to Tuesday, February 28. Purdue Extension-Ohio County in conjunction with the Switzerland County SWCD is sponsoring a workshop for farmers that will help them increase their pastures' health and productivity.  The presentation will be held Thursday, February 2 at 6 pm in the Bear Branch Fire Department. Christin Herbst, Carroll County/UK Extension Educator, will discuss soil testing.  Matt Jarvis, NRCS, willl review pasture renovation.  And Steven Sarson, Bekaert, will look at fencing.

The Rising Sun Wellness Spa opened on April 1, 2008.  Unfortunately, it is being sold by the spa's owner.  But do not fear.  As one door closes, another one opens. "Move It" Ohio County is a year-long program sponsored by the Rising Sun-Ohio County Parks & Recreation Department. It is a program which encourages exercise and healthy lifestyle choices. There are many ways in which you can participate and tracking is on the honor system.
