Pool Hours Changing August 1st

Pool Hours Changing August 1st
Weekday hours of operation at the Rising Sun Community Pool will change starting August 1.  Facility manager Kristina Barrott says Monday through Friday pool hours will be from 2 to 6 pm.  Weekend hours of 12 to 6 pm on Saturday and 12 to 8 pm on Sunday will remain unchanged.

OCCF and RSRF Award Grant to City of Rising Sun
The City of Rising Sun offers its sincerest thanks and appreciation to the Ohio County Community Foundation and the Rising Sun Regional Foundation for grants recently awarded toward the upcoming Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers District Meeting the city will host in October. The OCCF awarded $5000 and the RSRF awarded $3000.   With the past 20-plus ILMCT District Meetings held in Nashville and Columbus, Rising Sun has been given the rare opportunity to host the event....

UPDATED STORY 10 AM Wednesday, July 6.   While rain forced the postponement of the city's fireworks event this past Sunday, it has also provided Rising Sun with a big double event weekend.  The fireworks have been rescheduled for Saturday, July 9.  This will be followed by the Shiner Pride Car Show on Sunday, July 10.  The weather and the river level appear to both be cooperating for this Saturday's fireworks event at Rising Sun's Riverfront Park on Front Street.  Brin...

The City of Rising Sun Street Department will begin trimming trees inside the city limits starting June 20. Trees with branches extending over city streets posing an issue for vehicles will be addressed. Please use caution when you come upon these work areas.

Do you have a youngster who likes to spend time in the kitchen, help prepare food and cook?  Well Purdue Extension-Ohio County has just the dish for you.  It's Chef School.
