Martial Arts are often misunderstood but are really much more than the stereotypical self-defense classes. Some of the benefits include: increasing your level of activity, teaching you focus and stillness, improving your self confidence and self respect, connecting your mind and body and teaching you how to breathe and relax under pressure.

Beginning Monday, September 25, there will be weekly classes in Rising Sun each Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Schroeder Educational and Recreational Facility on 1419 Fairgrounds Road in Rising Sun. The classes are presented by the Rising Sun-Ohio County Parks & Recreation Department and the Indiana Martial Arts Academy.

The cost is only $10 per class per week. Additional family members can take the same class for 20 percent off.
