City Receives New Truck Thanks To RSRF/OCCF Support
Posted by Ynez Taylor on May 28, 2020

Thanks to $22,000 in grants from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation and the Ohio County Community Foundation received in 2019, the City of Rising Sun has a new work truck for the street department. The 2019 model truck was purchased from Tom Tepe Auto Center in Milan.
COVID-19 issues delayed the installation of a nine-foot work bed needed for the back of the vehicle, but the city has now taken possession of the new truck.
The street department’s 2008 model truck was becoming unreliable due to increased repair needs. It would be out of service for days at a time which made it difficult for the department to keep up with its long list of work agenda items. The city will keep the older truck as a secondary unit which will help with the efficiency of the street department.
The City of Rising Sun thanks the RSRF and OCCF for their gracious support toward the purchase of the new truck.
