Crafty Carrigan Creates Clerk Cabinet

We’ve all had that feeling of needing more space. Rising Sun Clerk-Treasurer Rae Baker Gipson has been dealing with cramped quarters for some time. Dean Carrigan and grants from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation and Ohio County Community Foundation helped fix that.

No, Ms. Gipson did not get a new office, but she did get something to make it look more spacious and more efficient. The City of Rising Sun applied for and received grant money from the two local foundations for new cabinetry for the clerk-treasurer’s office.

Carrigan, a local craftsman and carpenter (shown standing in the center of his installed creation), was called upon to make the new cabinetry. In a word, he did a marvelous job. The solid-as-a-rock and slick looking structure even matches the existing cabinetry in the center section of the office.

No longer are there piles upon piles of boxes on the floor of Ms. Gipson’s office. The volumes of documentation required to be retained by the State Board of Accounts are now in binders and files, all cataloged and easily accessible.

The City of Rising Sun and Clerk-Treasurer Rae Baker Gipson thank Mr. Carrigan, the RSRF and the OCCF for making this worthwhile project a reality.
