Mayor Brent Bascom of Rising Sun has declared March as Red Cross Awareness Month. He presented a proclamation (attached below) to Dorma Melchers, a Dearborn/Ohio County Disaster Action Team member for the Red Cross (shown left).

The Red Cross has been very active and supportive of our community. Please donate in any way you can.

There are several ways to give a monetary donation. A few include:
– Online through www.redcross.org.
– Text REDCROSS to 90999 for a $10 donation toward disaster relief efforts.
– By phone at 1-800-733-2767.

Of course, the Red Cross also accepts blood. Giving blood helps the organization maintain a healthy and reliable blood supply. You can go online to www.redcross.org to learn how to host a blood drive, volunteer at one and recruit donors.
