Mayor’s Executive Order Effective May 4, 2020

Executive Order 2020-2

Whereas, novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (“COVID-19”) was declaired a Public Health Emergency by Governor Eric J. Holcomb on the 6th day of March 2020 and a National Emergency by President Donald J. Trump on the 13th day of March 2020;
Whereas, on the 24th day of March 2020, Executive Order 2020-1 was executed access to City of Rising Sun owned properties were restricted and city employees were directed to begin working from home; and
Whereas, in light of Executive Orders 20-25 and 20-26 and the “Back On Track Indiana” plan, all issued by Governor Holcomb on the 1st day of May 2020, new measures shall be undertaken by the City of Rising Sun, Indiana in an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based upon the foregoing, the following restrictions are hereby Ordered to be put in place to protect the health of the citizens of the City of Rising Sun, Indiana:
- All City properties shall remain closed to the public until further order of the Mayor. Any non-emergency, essential business that cannot be delayed may be completed by calling the Mayor’s Office at 812-438-3340 or the Mayor’s Executive Secretary at 812-290-3668. Your information will be shared with the proper City department. When available, a representative from the City of Rising Sun will contact you regarding your request or call. Non-emergency situations which may require police, fire and/or medical assistance should be directed to Ohio County Dispatch at 812-438-3737. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, CITIZENS SHOULD CALL 911;
- Meetings in the City of Rising Sun shall continue to be held only to handle essential business and will be held in accordance with the provisions of Executive Orders 20-04 and 20-09 until shuch time as those Executive Orders are no longer in effect; and
- City of Rising Sun employees shall return to work, rather than working from home, the 11th day of May 2020. Employees may continue to work from home only if they meet one of the following conditions:
a. They are subject to Federal, State or Local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19;
b. They have been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID-19;
c. They are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and are seeking a medical diagnosis;
d. They are caring for an individual who either is subject to a quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19 or has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine due to concerns related to COVID-19;
e. They are experiencing any other substantially similar condition specified by the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services; or
f. They are at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 because of a serious underlying medical condition.All of which is ordered by the Mayor of the City of Rising Sun, Indiana on this 4th day of May 2020.
