Weather permitting, Main Street from Front to Walnut will be resurfaced on Thursday, July 9.  There will be no parking on this two-block section of Main during this time. Signs restricting parking will be posted.  Residents and guests should use the parking lot on Poplar near Main, the parking lot next to the Main Street public restrooms or street parking on adjacent streets.

For the city’s annual fireworks event scheduled Saturday, July 11, there will be no parking on Front Street from Main to Williams during the hours of 12 pm to 12 am Saturday.  Vehicle access to this section of Front Street will be blocked off with barricades as of 12 pm.  However, Riverfront Park will remain open for use.

In addition, there will be no docking at the First Street boat ramp during the same period.  The docks at Fryman’s Landing (two blocks south) will be available.

Front Street between Main and Williams needs to be cleared and secured for when the fireworks arrive early in the afternoon and so the band and food vendor can safely set up.

Additional details about the fireworks event will appear in a separate article.
