On Wednesday, July 17 at the Ohio County Historical Society (212 S. Walnut St.), there will be a public meeting from 4 to 7 pm to discuss improvements to the seasonal docks along Rising Sun’s riverfront.

The first phase of the project will include a diverter system to protect the docks and the boats moored to them.  The diverter is designed to redirect driftwood and other debris away from the docks.  Currently, the docks are subject to damage due to the impact and build up of driftwood and debris.

The first two hours (4 to 6 pm) will be an informal session to meet with engineers who are designing the project.  From 6 to 7 pm, there will be a formal presentation with an additional question and answer period.

Rising Sun and Ohio County residents are encouraged to attend.
