Rising Sun’s Wayne Ashcraft is bravely fighting stage 3 bladder cancer. Despite eight chemo treatments, the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes around the bladder and in the lungs. Unfortunately, Wayne is not a candidate for surgery.

The Ashcraft Cancer Benefit will be held Saturday, April 2 from 3 pm to 1 am at Rockies Bar and Grill on Industrial Drive in Rising Sun. In addition to a silent auction and raffles, live music will be featured by Monkeybone plus Lynn and Chris Koons.

Wayne was raised in our community and graduated from Rising Sun in 1981. He married his wife Susan in 1989 and, together, they have five children, seven grandchildren and one more grandchild on the way. Wayne has been a Rising Star Casino employee since 2001.
