Whitlock Day, Saturday August 16 at Ohio County Historical Museum

Saturday, August 16th will be proclaimed “Whitlock Day” by Mayor April Hautman. In conjunction with the Rising Sun Regatta in Rising Sun’s Bicentennial year, the Ohio County Historical Museum is hosting an open house to celebrate J.W. Whitlock. Beginning at noon, Board President Lane Siekman will welcome members of the Whitlock family and visitors to the reception. Mayor April Hautman will read a proclamation declaring “Whitlock Day” and recognize Whitlock family members in attendance. J.W. Whitlock’s great-grandaughter, Dana Wolfe-Hildebrand will then narrate a short presentation on Row Whitlock’s racing days, in keeping with the Regatta. The public is invited, light refreshments will be served. Please come and learn more about the Whitlock family’s contributions to Rising Sun’s history, chat with Whitlock family members and tour the Whitlock Gallery in the museum which houses the world-famous Hoosier Boy racing boat.
