Street Laborer/Maintenance Position

The City of Rising Sun is currently accepting applications for a Street Laborer/Maintenance Position. The City Street Department is responsible for the overall maintenance of the various City properties and equipment. This includes the ability to mechanically fix and maintain City equipment. This position will also include, but is not limited to, mowing and weed eating, snow removal, leaf and brush pickup, tree trimming, erecting and taking down Christmas decorations, pool preparation and maintenance, public restroom winterization, and other duties assigned by the Street Commissioner. The position requires working outside in all types of weather. The applicant needs to show leadership skills and work well with other employees within the department. The applicant also needs to be able to communicate well with the public. A valid Driver’s License is required for this position.

Salary Benefits are set by City Council.
